Faith healing elicits divine intervention in spiritual and physical healing through the ritualistic practice of prayer. Practitioners of this modality believe that the healing of disease and disability can be brought about by religious faith through prayer and ritual and attribute the New Testament as the source of inspiration for this divine practice.
Distant healing most closely resembles praying for another person. This must be the oldest modality on earth. Any and all non-physical efforts at sending love or healing to a third person is considered distant healing this includes prayer, magic, spiritual medium, meditation, or telepathy.
